CASE STUDY 01

320A SERVICE UPGRADE - VANCOUVER STRATA

CHALLENGE

A 48-unit strata building in Vancouver needed a full service upgrade to support a building-wide EV charging infrastructure. The existing 200A service was insufficient, and the work required BC Hydro coordination and a full operating permit.

SOLUTION

Sunset Electric designed and installed a new 320A underground service, coordinated the BC Hydro disconnection and reconnection, installed a new main distribution panel, and commissioned the EV charging load management system. All work was permitted and inspected.

RESULT

The building now supports 24 Level 2 EV charging stations with smart load management, reducing peak demand charges. The project was completed on schedule with zero disruption to residents.

KITCHEN RENOVATION ELECTRICAL — NORTH VANCOUVER

CHALLENGE

A homeowner in North Vancouver was completing a full kitchen renovation and needed new circuits for a high-end appliance package including an induction range, built-in steam oven, and under-cabinet lighting system.

SOLUTION

We installed four new dedicated circuits from the panel, ran concealed wiring through the walls before drywall, installed a wireless LED dimming system for the under-cabinet and ceiling lighting, and coordinated the final inspection.

RESULT

The kitchen electrical was completed ahead of the renovation schedule, with all circuits properly labelled and documented. The homeowner was particularly pleased with the wireless lighting control system.
